Jo visits! She said we can hang out once every 7 years!

My friend Joanna just came by and stayed at the OMC Loft pad for 5 days. I think she had a good time. I was happy to have her here b/c I've gone thru so many changes in the past few months that I needed to take a break, and she helped me to do it. Now I'm starting that life thing up again...

Mother's Cookies Lofts (my pad) is cool, but isolated from everything. I had to take her around everywhere, pretty much.

And OMC Loft is full of fruit flies! YUCK
(I put out some organic traps before she came by, got a good couple thousand of the dudes. Just bottles of vinegar, soap, and water. I did notice that the survivors smell like soap when I squash 'em, so I guess the soap didn't kill 'em that fast.) She said a bug flew up her nose. Ugggh

Jo's one of my art school friends from RMIT in Australia from when I was in Melbourne from 1999-2000. Pretty wild that we stayed in touch AND remain friends for 7 years! Thank you internet! (And Jo!)

She didn't have much of a plan for this trip except get over a cold and jetlag from London, but Sat night she wanted to catch CSS at the Mezzanine, but it was sold out -- we had to leave for it late b/c I was previously committed to a Duck Baker jazz house concert at my new pad!

I had a pretty good time showing her around. I gave her an idea of what was around & we journeyed.

Mannie hopped in the mix for a bit, which was cool. We also hung out with Silvia and Beatriz in the Mission, which was great. They're really cool.

Later, Jo and I hit the SFMOMA (good for inspiration as an artist), Union Square, dept stores, Haight Ashbury, and more. She returned solo on Sunday to check stuff out & poke around the Castro.

After awhile, I couldn't handle going into all the shops, so I just hung out outside. That was OK too.

We stopped at Shoe Warehouse near Union Square. Love this pic! HA

Jo kept taking pics of herself on my camera (she forgot her camera in London), but would often look away from the camera while she shot to make it more journalistic. HA! Cracked me up!

Oh yeah, I bought 3 amazing ceramic skulls from JoKo. (No relation to Joanna) Cool guy, great artist IMO. I can't afford 'em tho. Oh well... :)
